Overview
Owens Hermetics has just begun
our 56th year in the air-conditioning and refrigeration
compressor remanufacturing business. During World War II,
original equipment manufactured compressors were in short supply
and parts were almost impossible to find. Out of necessity,
Owens Hermetics was formed to satisfy customers needs for
compressor repair and the remanufactured compressor was born.
The “rod and piston pump”,
which was the original name for a compressor, is still a highly
produced product today. With millions of these products in
service today the demand for quality remanufactured compressors
continues to grow and Owens continues to grow with the business.
Today, Owens is one of the
largest independent remanufacturers in the world. As an original
member in the International Compressor Remanufacturer
Association we have consistently manufactured a quality product,
given excellent service, and sold at a competitive price. We
have remained a quality company by having dedicated, well
trained, people who are committed to our customers. Our emphasis
on quality is measured by the fact we load test every compressor
prior to shipment!
